Weekly Unplugged Project- Long

The Weekly Unplugged Project this week was long. We took the noodles/pasta we dyed last week (that will be another post) and I cut a long piece are yarn. We threaded on the colored noodles. I started at one end and he started at the other end and threaded until we thought it was loooong enough.

I have been wanting to make this Snake since I first saw it and I thought today would be a good day since it's also kinda long. And rainbow colored. :)

I had to use a drill for the first time today. I drilled a hole in the bottoms of plastic eggs. Then we strung them together. I pushed the yarn through because my holes weren't very good. Then he pushed them together at the bottom. You use a whole egg with holes drilled through the top and bottom for the ends.

  1. I like the long pasta chain. I also need to post about coloring pasta...we made necklaces for Christmas presents. :) I wasn't blogging then, but want to share it at some point.

  2. Great idea! We got a little plastic needle with a beading kit...I think that's going to make these kinds of projects possible for my 3 year old.

  3. Hi! Yeah, I think a 9 year old boy would really like the marble chute activity. I'll tell you, though, you need much more magnet coverage than you think. I'm going to reinforce ours by gluing some more old fridge magnets on the back. When the marble picks up speed, it really has a lot of force! It would be super cool if you had lots and lots of tubes!

  4. That's a really neat idea. I'm going to have to remember that one. I pulled out our box of Easter stuff the other day and realized that we have way more plastic eggs than we'll ever need. Might as well put them to use in another way!
